Only six days to go and Australia is heading to the polls to decide the future of our nation. This is a great opportunity for us to have our say and cast our vote in the direction of our personal conviction.
There are many factors to consider when casting your vote. If we just listen to the party propaganda that is continually drummed into our minds by expensive commercials using fear and negative communication, I believe we will miss the true message that is being lost.
We often vote according to our environment. What I mean is this. If your mum and dad voted Liberal, there is a great chance that you will be influenced that way. If you are a member of a trade union, Labor will be your preferred party. We are influenced, often blindly by our environment and history.
As Christians, we have a greater responsibility at this election. Let’s vote with wisdom. Our environment or history might be a compelling option but the Holy Spirit is our Teacher.
- Proverbs 2:4-5 “If you search for wisdom as if it were money and hunt for it as if it were hidden treasure, :5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD and you will find the knowledge of God.”
My point with all this is that God knows what is best for Australia. Our economy, social systems, IR, education, and all the other hot topics can be placed into the hands of our Eternal God if we allow.
Before you cast your vote, pray. Read the information handed to you that was collated by the Australian Christian Lobby. Seek wisdom from God and vote according to the convictions He places on your heart.
