“I am now giving you the choice between life and death, between God's blessing and God's curse, and I call heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Choose life.” Deuteronomy 30:19
A general of the Persian army always gave his condemned prisoners a choice—the firing squad or the black door. Most chose the firing squad. The prisoners were never told what was on the other side of the door. Few ever chose the unknown of the black door. When asked what was on the other side of the black door, the general answered, “Freedom, and I’ve known only a few men brave enough to take it.”
Last Sunday I spoke on ‘Igniting God-Induced Passion’. You must be brave to pursue your passion in life because disappointment can often hijack all hope.
But in the face of the known—death by firing squad, prisoners veered away from the unknown and elected for what was sure...Death!
It seems that things haven’t changed over the centuries. Jesus offers life today but because it appears too ’mystic’ & out of the control of the individual, it is passed off as invalid.
But let me step a little further. Jesus offers us Christians life to the full. Are you pursuing real life in Christ, real freedom, real victory, real healing or are you choosing the conservative, ‘that’ll do?’ Choose real life today. It might be a step in the unknown, but it’s worth it!
May the Lord bless you. Love from your pastor, Daren.
