“We must try to become mature and start thinking about more than just the basic things we were taught about Christ. We shouldn't need to keep talking about why we ought to turn from deeds that bring death and why we ought to have faith in God. And we shouldn't need to keep teaching about baptisms or about the laying on of hands or about people being raised from death and the future judgment. Let's grow up, if God is willing.” Hebrews 6:1-3 CEV
This passage is one of freedom and blessing. It places the whole responsibility of growth into the hands of each individual believer. If you desire to be a strong Christian, it is the pastor’s role to help facilitate the opportunities for growth, not to make it happen. The Bible tells us to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. In other words, take total responsibility for your own personal growth.
Many Christians sadly live a very unfulfilled, unforgiven and bitter life. Such a life mocks God and treats Him with devastating contempt. Jesus came that we might have life to the full. (Jn 10:10).
It’s time for every believer to move on into maturity. Read the Word. Spend time in prayer. Get to know God for yourself. If you hold a grudge, deal with it. Don’t let any unforgiveness lead you to an unforgiven life without God. A Mature Christian doesn’t run away from issues but rather seeks God’s strength to overcome the issues. Enjoy “Bait of Satan” today. Freedom is yours.
May the Lord bless you,
Love from your pastor, Daren.
