Without a shadow of a doubt, mothers are the most influential people in most children’s lives. They help shape this generation of young people. If you reflect on your earlier life, you could easily identify ‘turning points’ influenced by your mum that helped forge the person that you are today.
Before you point the finger fellas, and blame the ladies for the wrongs you see happening among our young, you too play your roll of influence as well, but more on that subject at another time.
Isn’t it an eye-opener when you hear yourself saying the same things to your children as your mother said to you! Many vowed never to do that but that shows the power of the words that we use when speaking to our kids.
When you speak to your kids, be sure to speak...
1. Life
2. Love
3. Blessing to them.
Be careful to encourage them, even when you are correcting them. Rather than just preach the Word of the Lord to them, show them the Word of the Lord. Reveal the Truth by the way you live. Remember, “A Picture Speaks a Thousand Words!”
