“the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive because it does not see Him nor know Him. But you know Him, for He dwells with you and shall be in you. .” John 14:17 MKJV
I remember the first ever week-long camp I attended without anyone in my family. I was 7 years old, fearful and wondering when that camp would ever finish. It was at Camp Cal (hell for me), Caloundra. It didn’t take long to make friends but that wasn’t before I experienced the most lonely, heart-wrenching time of my young life.
Having no idea what to do or who to talk too, I was forced to see it through, all alone.
This sense of loneliness is so real for many who even live in our neighbourhood. It’s disastrous to think that this is the case.
How comforting it is to know that Jesus didn’t leave us to fend for ourselves when He went to glory. He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell with us. To teach us. To guide us. To comfort and fill us. To be our close friend.
Don’t neglect the work of the Holy Spirit. You don’t need to be lonely when humans don’t surround you. Build a strong, close and meaningful relationship with God through the Holy Spirit. Let him fill you today.
