I was speaking with a lady this week (not connected with God or the church) who said she was having a shocker of a week and things aren’t looking up. “it can’s get any worse, but maybe it can”, were her words of ’faith’.
I often wonder how people can survive without God. It’s hard to imagine not having an all-powerful, all-knowing and loving God to run to in a time of need and disaster. Trusting in my own personal resources freaks me out completely!
Proverbs 18:10 says, “The LORD is like a strong tower, where the righteous can go and be safe.”
At the time of this being written, war was very hands-on in the field of battle. Fortification was necessary for protection. The writer of this proverb tells us that we, the righteous in Christ, can rise above the wars of life into the safe arms of our God. How awesome! From a strong tower, we can see the enemy. We are out of range of the arrows. We are well fortified.
In your time of hardship and strife, run to the protection and safety of our God—The Strong Tower.
God bless you,
Love from your pastor, Daren.
