How great is God’s grace!
Every time we make a mistake, say the wrong thing or disappoint our loved ones, we need a new beginning. Imagine the pain of accumulated wrongs we incur without forgiveness. Imagine the friends we would lose and family members we would continually hurt without forgiveness.
We all need a new beginning, a fresh start. But we also need to offer new beginnings as well as receive them. It’s tougher to offer forgiveness than to receive it because you are the one who has been wronged.
- 1 Corinthians 13:5 “Love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs;”
The key to forgiveness is LOVE! Amid all our sins and grief, Jesus entered this world in love to give us a brand new start.
I urge you to enter 2007 baptised in this same perfect love from God. Love keeps no record of wrongs! Forgive those who have wronged you as your Father in heaven has forgiven you...because He loves you.
