2 Timothy 1:6 “For this reason, I am reminding you to fan into flames the gift of God that is within you through the laying on of my hands.”
To be able to ‘fan into flames’, burning ambers must be present. No matter how much fanning you do on a block of ice, flames will not be produced.
When you were saved, God didn’t stick you on a shelf waiting for the next instalment, He has given you special gifts—unearned treasures to be exercised in the church environment & under it’s covering.
Such is God’s grace. We don’t need special credentials, Bible college degrees or theological expertise to receive free gifts via God’s grace. However, a word of caution. When you fan into flames the gift/s given you, seek the fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5 (the character of Jesus). When we grow in this character, it will protect us from arrogance, pride and jealousy when using these gifts.
