Are we living in a fatherless society? If the divorce rate is running close to 60%, would that mean that we could correctly assume that about 60% of society’s children are without one of their live-in biological parents? In most cases, the father is the one who is separated from the family.
This has frightening short, medium & long-term implications!
The father has a huge impact on the raising and the final outcome of every child. Without that positive father influence, the child’s balance is being put at risk.
Last Wednesday, I had the pleasure of addressing 240 year 9 students at the high school on this very matter. To my amazement my message totally connected with them—some even to the point of crying!
We pump billions into AIDES research yet neglect the fundamental problem of this fatherless generation. We must recognise this issue and pray how we can help make a difference.
James 1:27 “Pure, unstained religion, according to God our Father, is to take care of orphans and widows when they suffer and to remain uncorrupted by this world.”
There are many we need to attend to as we open our eyes to the physically and spiritually orphaned generation of children.
God bless you. Love from your pastor, Daren.
