Tell them that you’re there for them and then when they call you up, tell them you’re too busy to talk Tell them that even though they’ve done their best, it’s still not good enough Tell them that you really believe in them and then when one’s left the room, pull them down in front of all the others Tell them they they’ve got a week to do the job, then spend each day looking over their shoulder until it’s done Tell them that things aren’t up to expectation without ever giving them a list of expectations Tell them stories about how great other teams are and subtly make them feel inadequate!
