Over the last 4 weeks at life group, our study/discussion was centred on the “Law of the Lid”. (John Maxwell)
This was excellent material. We compared King Saul with King David and saw how Saul was a miserable failure yet he had all the obvious attributes to do well. David was also very good looking but came from a poor family, was the youngest and merely a shepherd boy.
Each one of us have negatives that can become a lid that prevents us from achieving the goals we desire. We all have a past. We all have history that we are not so happy about. We all face difficulties that are a result of people, issues or baggage that surround us.
David became the greatest king of Israel yet his life was often a struggle.
His secret is that he didn’t allow those potential lids to limit God’s call on his life. The choice however is ours. We can allow certain lids to limit our growth or we can move on in forgiveness and love and break through by persevering—knowing with full confidence that God is partnering with you in your life’s journey.
Identify the lids in your life today and start to break free of potential zappers that prevent greatness in your life.
