George Truett said, “To know the will of God is the greatest knowledge. To do the will of God is the greatest achievement.” One of the most common questions I have been asked as a pastor throughout the last 25 years of ministry is “How do I find God’s will for my life?”
With the risk of sounding over simplistic, it really isn’t that difficult. Sadly Christians complicate the walk with God so much that rather than finding the peace of God (one of the 9 fruit of the Spirit), we become frustrated in our search for His will for our lives.
As I preached last week concerning this humanistic gospel the modern church is in danger of peddling, we need to focus on bringing glory to God in all we do. When we become confused looking for God’s will, we are merely focusing on the “Me” person rather than the “YE” person—Jesus Christ. The Bible is full of direction as to how we need to live. We simply don’t need more rules, we need more action in our lifestyle. Read Romans 12:1-2 and you will quickly determine God’s will for your life. Bring glory to His Name and broaden the smile across His face.
