Well...here we are. A church in our own right, embarking on a vision birthed for over 3 years. As I said last week, the chapter of being an extension service is over but our vision will continue—unhindered.
Our slogan is “Connecting People with God” & that’s what we intend to do. For this to occur, it requires us to obtain a “Competitor Mentality” rather than the easy but dangerous “Spectator Mentality”. Spectators are armchair critics that sit on the sidelines hurling abuse at the competitors with no authority to do so.
God has a plan for each and every one of us. That is to move forward together, to the beat of the same drum, in constant unity that the Holy Spirit demands us to live in.
This requires more work than what I can achieve on my own or with 2 or 3 co-workers. It requires a church to work together as one body.
I praise God that He is developing that unified church here at Southern Bay. A church that will show amazing tenacity, durability and longevity. A people in this church that will be God-centred rather than "ME" centred. A people who will be prone to be found praying and reading the bible and doing His will rather than worried about being in a me-orientated, comfortable, dead church.
I’m excited about the future. If we want to connect people with God, fasten your seatbelts for we are about to go for a ride of our lives!!!
