Need an Attitude Restructure?

How’s your attitude towards people, life, church, God? Is it standing up or does it need a little restructuring? When I worked at the refinery some years back, the word ‘Restructuring’ received a hammering. We had to basically reinvent our positions in the company to make ourselves more valuable. Over time, we can become complacent, lazy, take people and work for granted etc.

It is no different in every day Christian life. It’s all about our attitude.

Earl Nightingale quotes the following, ‘Think of it this way: Your total environment is a reflection of you as a person. The house and neighbourhood in which you live, the car you drive, the clothes you wear, the job you do, the people you associate with.  Your total environment is an exact and merciless mirror of you as a human being. Now if you feel your environment can stand some improvement, you have only to improve your attitude. And your world will gradually change to reflect the changing person. Here’s how to change your attitude: Beginning now, begin to act like the person you most want to become.’

    • ‘The attitude you should have is the one that Christ Jesus had:’ Philippians 2:5  Please read the verses that follow and you’ll quickly get the picture of the attitude of Jesus.

If Jesus is the One whom you most want to become, study Him. Study His character, His attitude, His view of life, His submissive will to His Father etc.

The Christian life must be one that develops and matures. If it doesn’t and you are still striving as you did when you first met with the Lord, you need to spend some real quality time with your Saviour.

Many things reflect you as a person right from the job you do, how you apply yourself to your commitments to the type of people you associate with.

Reinvent yourself as a disciple of Jesus today. Grow in your attitude and see what awesome future the Lord has for you as you do.

God bless you immensely. Your Pastor, Daren.
