Special days commemorating people or events often leave us with mixed feelings. Excitement, hope, fondness but also, sadness, loss and even despair.
Today is Father’s Day and it can stir up so many different emotions for so many people.
It’s time to grow beyond being driven by our emotions and to be driven by the power of the Holy Spirit. Emotions will often lie to us and distort the true facts that remain in our lives. If we love the Lord and place Jesus in our hearts and are filled with the Holy Spirit, these facts must rule our hearts rather than the feelings and emotions driven by circumstances.
- Fact 1—The Father loves you and gave His Son to die for you!
- Fact 2—The Father (Abba—Daddy) wants an intimate relationship with you—when you submit to Him
- Fact 3—The Father is able to do everything—All things are possible (Mark 14:36)
- Fact 4—The Father has everything in control of your life—when you allow Him
- Fact 5—The Father remembers your sins no more—when you truly repent
- Fact 6—The Heavenly Father is not bound by your bad experiences of fatherhood
- Fact 7—The Father, the Creator of the universe cares to know how many hairs are on your head
Regardless of your Father’s Day emotions, enjoy the facts and the truth pertaining to our real, Heavenly Father. When He looks on you, He doesn’t see your failings, weaknesses and short comings. When you are under the blood of His Son, He sees Jesus.
Now that’s a real Father. One you can trust totally. Rely on Him. Walk in His ways. Live according to His rules and plans and He won’t let the righteous fall!
