Isn’t technology fabulous? It allows us to speak with great clarity to friends and family on the other side of the planet. It speeds up business processes. Games are more realistic. Jobs around the house are achieved faster. Driving from point ’A’ to point ’B’ is less laborious. We can list a thousand and one benefits modern technology has for us…
...WHEN IT WORKS!
How nice it is to enjoy all the mod cons for cooking, cleaning, communication. But when it fails us for some reason, wow! Our world falls apart. I remember back in the early 1980’s when Brisbane suffered power outages at the hands of the SEQEB linesmen dispute. Boiling water in the back yard over a fire for baths and cooking. So inconvenient, particularly in the middle of winter!
At the moment, I am struggling reconnecting to broadband. Great when it works but I am quickly realising how much I depend on the internet and email for communication.
Prayer, on the other hand, is a technology that will never be out-dated & is fail-proof. In fact, prayer is our awesome connection with God that will never suffer power failure, break in lines, modem problems or unpaid ISP bills.
Check this out! Psalm 4:3 “Remember that the LORD has chosen the righteous for his own, and he hears me when I call to Him.”
That’s a sure thing. God hears us when we cry out...no matter how bad the situation or how far away we are from Him. He hears our prayer. Never give up on God’s love even when you struggle to see an answer. He hasn’t gone away or on strike. He’s with you day and night.
