Live By Genuine Grace

We all want to enjoy freedom from guilt and the stench of sin. Such freedom allows us to walk in the power and strength of the Holy Spirit on a daily basis.

We must not mistake this true freedom through grace with ‘freedom to sin’ and going to God later for forgiveness. This is not grace but a lust for sin and the search for freedom of the guilt derived from this continued sin. Another term for this is “Grieving the Holy Spirit of God”.

We are saved by grace, (Eph 2:8-9) real grace not a ‘grace by convenience’ when we give our hearts to Jesus daily, desiring to walk in Holiness and free from sin.

1 Peter 1:14-16 “As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance,  but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, "You shall be holy, for I AM holy."

This is not an optional extra within the framework of Christianity. This is knowing God and conforming no longer to the pattern of this world (Romans 12:1-2) but living the God-pleasing, transformed lifestyle. Anything less is contemptuous towards God. We can say we are under construction, but even a house shows definite signs of growth and is completed at some stage.

What I am saying is this, if we still lust for and live the way we did prior to meeting Jesus, we must revisit where we stand with God. We are different now. We must have changed. We are a new creation. We must not crave for the things of the pagans and rationalise. The bible tells us that there is no sacrifice left for such a lifestyle.

I urge you to live to please God and put away the idols of the past. Let’s not nullify the  power of the Word but live in the power of God’s Word.

God bless you great church. Love, Daren.
