Two men who lived all their lives in the Artic cold regions travelled to Miami Florida for a holiday. On the bus to the hotel, they saw people who were waterskiing. Having only seen their kayaks and other hand propelled boats all their lives, one man asked the other, “What makes that boat go so fast?” “The other man watched for a few seconds, “Man on string push it”.
I’m sure we have all, at one stage tried to explain something without the full understanding of what we are talking about. In fact, it’s quite humourous listening to children explaining their take on life and some of the things we grasp by experience, they speak out of their basic knowledge pool.
1 Corinthians 13:11-12 “When we were children, we thought and reasoned as children do. But when we grew up, we quit our childish ways. Now all we can see of God is like a cloudy picture in a mirror. Later we will see him face to face. We don't know everything, but then we will, just as God completely understands us.”
In some ways, we are no different to children. We don’t know everything even as mature adults. Yet we often argue on subjects of life that are a total mystery to mankind and totally in the hands of our God. Some things, we are not meant to know in this life but will be revealed on the other side of the grave.
My warning? Don’t waste your time trying to figure everything out. Walk by faith and not by sight. Leave the things you can’t understand up to God and work on the things you do understand. That’s a walk of faith. That’s where God wants us to be. He is sovereign. No bigger or better hands to rest in than God’s!
God bless you church as you walk in faith in our Lord Jesus. Love ya, Daren.
