The Planet Shakers Conference has come and gone for another year and many young people head off home, to their churches, work places and schools encouraged and filled with expectation as to what God can do through them in the coming year.
Having only been able to get to the evening sessions due to work commitments, I must testify of the awesome presence of God in that place. Great worship, Spirit-filled ministry and a deep sense of the Holy Spirit was unmistakable.
As with the end of every such amazing encounter with God comes the reality of stepping into the everyday world once again. But things don’t need to be the same. Hearing legend evangelist Reinhard Bonnke share how over one million people, mostly Muslim, handed their lives over to the Lordship of Jesus in just one meeting, left me awestruck. Is Africa the same? Of course not! Every time one life is changed through the transforming power of Jesus, that life has influence on others within their world.
My prayer for you within this church is that we will become agents of change to this dying. It’s not up to Reinhard Bonnke to bring salvation to your friends, it’s up to you. Our church will move in power in 2008. Get ready to be a part of it. Partner with me as we walk in the salvation power of Jesus Christ. There is no such creature as a ‘Spectator Christian’ by virtue of the name Christian means “follower of Christ”. It’s tough to be a follower while sitting back on a comfortable reclining chair with binoculars around your neck.
Let’s go for it in 2008. Be filled with the Holy Spirit and His power. God bless you…Daren.
